Assure thing?


What assurances can politicians give that the new transport plan, to be announced shortly, will be driven forward with application, commitment, and awareness of its need to be taken as something other than a pre-election public relations exercise?

It was clear within 18 months of the publication of the first 10 year transport plan in 2000 that it was rapidly losing credibility and commitment from Westminster, and had by then little or no chance of achievement.
