Assaluyeh - the project so far

Iran : Business sectors

The first eight phases of the Assaluyeh project have been let.

Phase 1 went to Petropars - a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company with Korean firm Daelim as main contractor and Kvaerner E&C in charge of management services.

Phases 2 and 3 went to Total South Pars which is led by TotalFinaElf of France with Oao Gazprom from Russia and Petronas from Malaysia.

Phases 4 and 5 went to a joint venture of Petropars and Italian firm ENI.

Phases 6,7 and 8 went to Petropars and UK firm Enterprise Oil. Foster Wheeler is involved in engineering design.

The £2.6bn investment for phases 9-12 is under negotiation with an announcement expected soon.

Britsh Petroluem and Shell are rumoured to be in the running for phase 11.

The South Pars gas field is run by the Pars Oil & Gas Company (POGC), a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company. Contact POGC Managing Director, Mr A.
