Arup wins work on Copenhagen light rail project

An Arup/Rambøll joint venture has won work on a new light rail system in Copenhagen.

The partnership will undertake detailed design work on the Danish project, known as Ring 3.

The 27km light rail line will have 27 stations and is aimed at boosting use of public transport and encouraging urban development.

It will follow the route of the Ring 3 motorway around the edge of Copenhagen.

Arup said its work would include design coordination and technical integration of the light rail systems; design of the Control and Maintenance Centre; and vibration modelling.
