Arup, Mott MacDonald and Tony Gee triumph in 2009

Outstanding business performance by civil engineering consultancies across the UK is recognised in the Consultants File through the coveted NCE/ACE Consultants of the Year Awards.

This year eight firms were shortlisted across three categories: Major Firm; Medium Firm; and International Firm.

Finalists in the major firm category, for companies employing more than 800 staff were: Arup, Grontmij and Mott MacDonald.

Finalists in the medium firm category, for companies employing between 200 and 800 staff were: Balfour Beatty Management, Tony Gee & Partners and Wardell Armstrong.

And in the international category, for UK firms operating overseas the finalists were: Mott MacDonald, RPS and Hyder.

The awards also recognise outstanding personal achievement through the Young Consultant of the Year and the Outstanding Achievement Award.
