Arts and humanities courses

lArts and humanities courses should be used to subsidise more expensive science and engineering degrees, the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) demanded this week. The call was made in a response to the Department for Education & Skills' white paper, The future of higher education.

Students can be encouraged onto science and engineering courses by charging lower fees or dropping fees altogether, the IEE said.
