Arcelor adds to pile portfolio

Arcelor Mittal has added a new sheet pile design to its portfolio in a bid to offer a better solution in difficult ground.

The AZ 38-700N range features reinforced shoulders designed to cope with hard ground conditions and an overall minimum thickness of 13.2mm for enhanced corrosion resistance. The new pile, available in lengths of up to 31m, also features optimised web/flange thicknesses and Larssen interlocks.

Arcelor says the new version is a development of the original 700 design which was first developed in 2004 as the first 70mm wide hot rolled Z-section sheet pile. The new N version retains the lower weight and easier installation of the original.
