Arcadis acquires Canadian firm

Arcadis has acquired Canadian consultancy Franz Environmental.

The Dutch firm said Franz’s remediation and site assessment expertise would complement its own services in North America.

Franz employs more than 100 people in six locations across Canada and has turnover of about CAD 20M (£11M).

The acquisition takes Arcadis’ Canadian headcount to 360.

Arcadis chief executive Gary Coates said: “Franz’s environmental expertise in the Canadian federal, municipal and private sectors will further enhance the support we provide our clients in North America and beyond.

“Together we strengthen our leadership position to solve our clients’ most complex environmental problems, adding depth to our existing on-site teams and expanding to new territories.”

Arcadis’ hopes to complete a £296M takeover of Hyder later this month.
