Barry Lehane has been appointed associate professor in geomechanics at the University of Western Australia.

Nick Langdon has been appointed a director of Card Geotechnics. He joined the firm in 1998 as associate director.

Jo Moore has joined Environmental Simulations International as hydrogeologist, responsible for hydrogeological input to groundwater projects.

Tim Broyd has been appointed chief executive of CIRIA. He succeeds director general Peter Bransby who retires in October. Broyd is group research and innovation director at WS Atkins Consultants.

Mark Pearson has joined Applied Geotechnical Engineering as principal engineer based in Maidenhead.

Weeks Consulting has moved its Midlands offices from Tamworth to Moira, near Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. The office will be headed by technical directors Steve McQuade (earth sciences) and Sean Fitzpatrick (integrated engineering). Contact the office on ashby@weeks. co. uk
