Angolan contractor to list in London

Angolan engineering contractor Mota-Engil Africa is to list on the London Stock Exchange.

The company, which currently operates in 10 African countries, formally announced its intention to make an initial public offering.

Mota-Engil Africa provides integrated engineering and construction services as well as working in logistics and the environment.

Founded in Angola in 1946, it reported turnover of about £800M for the year ended 31 December 2013.

Gonçalo Moura Martins, non-executive chairman of Mota-Engil Africa, said:”Mota-Engil Africa’s long history in the region, its understanding of local culture and practices, and its strong relationships across the Southern African Development Community, give the Board confidence that it is well positioned to take advantage of the significant opportunities in the region.”
