AmeyColas announced as preferred bidder for Network Rail's high output contract

AmeyColas has been announced as preferred bidder for the £250m High Output Track Renewals contract by Network Rail

The contract would make AmeyColas the largest track renewal company in the country.

The five year UK-wide contract is extendable to seven years. AmeyColas currently provides track renewals for Network Rail in its Western and North Western regions.

For Network Rail the High Output Track Renewal contract will deliver increased renewals capacity, greater efficiency and improved track quality in limited time slots.

Chief executive officer of Amey, Mel Ewell, said: “We are delighted to announce yet another significant contract with Network Rail, particularly one which will have such a significant impact on the delivery of rail improvement works across the country.”

He continued: “Ultimately this work will have a positive impact on the reliability of journey times for users of the rail network.”
