Amey/Carillion defence bonanza

An Amey/Carillion joint venture has landed a deal worth up to £2.8bn to maintain defence infrastructure.

The partnership was awarded the maintenance and construction of buildings in three UK regions by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

The deals, for the Central, South East and South West regions, are worth a minimum of £955M over five years. They could be extended in both length and content.

Amey and Carillion will implement management systems to improve energy efficiency in the buildings, as well as providing cleaning and catering services.

The announcement takes the joint venture’s tally of Ministry of Defence Next Generation Estates Contracts to four, after it previously secured the Scotland and Northern Ireland region.
