Amec Foster Wheeler nuclear contract renewed


Amec Foster Wheeler has announced that it has won a new contract for the proposed Moorside nuclear power station, extending its current involvement.

New nuclear build site Moorside, Cumbria, is to continue to receive environmental support from NuGeneration (NuGen).

The project is set to provide 3.8GW gross capacity when it is completed.

Amec Foster Wheeler is responsible for environmental impact modelling and assessment to support a Development Consent Order and Environmental Permit application in 2017.

The company’s team has also worked at Hinkley Point, Sizewell, and Wylfa. Its work covers ecology, hydrogeology, hydrology, radiological assessment, air quality, noise and vibration.
