With respect to your article on the River Alt (NCE 9 February), we would like to correct a couple of points.

First, the article stated that construction was likely to begin in a matter of months. In fact the next step following funding approval would be detailed design of the scheme.

The second point is that the operation and maintenance costs associated with the pumping station are £300,000 and not £30,000 as stated in the article.
