Allen Watson

Techniques on show on Allen Watson's stand will be auger-boring, directional drilling, pipe ramming and rock boring for trenchless installation of pipes, cables and ducts. Its latest rig, a purpose-built 175t HDD, can install large diameter pipes in variable ground over large distances. Construction of the Cardiff Bay Barrage led to a change in the groundwater regime beneath parts of South Cardiff. Allen Watson carried out successful trials which resulted in the installation of horizontal drainage wells as part of the ground watercontrol scheme. Stand 9412
