All the world’s a stage for construction’s star players

Almost 50 British and international projects from over 120 entries have been shortlisted for the 2011 British Construction Industry Awards.

The BCI Awards are the most coveted and rigorously judged in the construction world. All 47 shortlisted schemes will be visited by members of the judging panel in the next month.

Schemes are shortlisted in one of the project categories depending on their size and type, as listed below. In addition, all UK shortlisted schemes are assessed by the judges on their visits for the special BCIA categories irrespective of their size. These are the Conservation Award; the Local Authority Award; the Environmental Award sponsored by Atkins; the Regeneration Award; the Best Practice Award; and the Judges’ Special Award sponsored by Mott MacDonald.
