Aecom wins Russian highways PPP

Aecom announced today that it has won a contract as technical expert for the public-private partnership (PPP) concession for the Moscow to St Petersburg M11 Highway project in Russia from the North-West Concession Company (NWCC).

NWCC is a Russian company founded by French firm Vinci Concessions and private Russian investors and it holds a 31 year concession to build and operate the motorway.

Aecom’s responsibilities include providing design-review and construction-supervision services for the programme. This highway project encompasses design, finance, construction and operation of the 43km first section of the new M11 toll road motorway from Moscow to St Petersburg.

The M10 “Rossia” Highway is one of the busiest in Russia, and the new highway will provide an alternative from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Sheremetyevo International airport as well as to cities close to Moscow. The first section of the highway is expected to open in around three years and construction is already under way.
