Aecom wins contract for 3.2km US sewer

Aecom has won a $10M (£6.2M) design and construction management contract for the £40.9M Dugway West Interceptor Relief Sewer in the Cleveland area, Ohio.

The Dugway West Interceptor Relief Sewer is a major connecting facility for almost all of the combined sewer overflow control projects in the area. It will reduce the frequency and volume of overflows in the Dugway area.

Aecom will provide preliminary and detailed design and construction management services.

The project includes construction of approximately 3.2km of main line relief sewer, 1.2km of connecting sewers and modification of more than 40 existing system regulators. It requires large diameter shallow rock tunneling, microtunneling and open-cut construction in a tight, congested urban area.
