Aecom to oversee £1.4bn Istanbul scheme

Consultant Aecom has been appointed project manager for a $2.2bn (£1.4bn) hospital, residential and commercial scheme in Istanbul, Turkey.

Aecom’s win comes a year after its subsidiary Davis Langdon was selected as cost and programme manager on the Bio Istanbul scheme.

The firm will project manage the construction of three distinct campusses: The Istanbul Children’s Hospital, a research and development commercial park and 150 residential units. The buildings will be built to meet Breeam standards.

Bio Istanbul is a joint venture between healthcare infrastructure firm Bio City Development, the Turkish Housing Development Administration and the Turkish Ministry of Urbanisation and Environment.
