Aecom latest firm to pick up Qatar work

Aecom has become the latest firm to pick up lucrative Qatar work from public works authority Ashghal.

It has been awarded a $80M (£50M) contract to provide general engineering consultancy services for local roads and drainage projects in the south of Qatar.

The work is part of Ashghal’s massive £8.7bn programme to develop the city’s infrastructure, local roads and drainage.

Aecom will provide the following services: data collection; planning; coordination; liaising with stakeholders; permit review; inspection of traffic diversions; option studies; design; construction supervision; and other consultancy services.

Work on the contract is set to begin immediately.
