Additions for the geotechnical library

THREE NEW books for the geotechnical industry have been published by John Wiley & Sons.

Soil strength and slope stability, by J Michael Duncan and Stephen Wright, describes state of the art methods for evaluation and analysis of soil strength, as well as design and stabilisation of soil slopes. Methods are described for checking the results of complex analyses and for presenting results.

Landslides in practice, by Derek Cornforth, uses case histories in a practical guide to landslide investigation, evaluation and mitigation design. It presents state of the art investigative techniques and practical information on proven remediation techniques and technologies, including checklists for an initial field examination of a landslide.

Fundamentals of soil behavior, by James Mitchell and Kenichi Soga, covers the formal scientific study of the physical composition and mechanical behaviour of soils.
