Aarsleff secures major housing piling contract

Lawley Development Group has appoint Aarsleff to supply and install over 4,600 piles for a new phase of housing development near Telford in Shropshire.

Under the agreement, Aarsleff will undertake the foundations work for the 388 plots that form the sixth phase of work on the Lawley Village development.

The foundation design for the development uses a mix of steel tube and precast concrete piles with the steel solution being used in locations where heave is anticipated due to removal of mature trees.

“This is an exciting project simply because of the sheer scale of what is involved,” said Aarsleff projects manager Daniel Broadley. “It also allows us to demonstrate the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of precast driven piles, which developers are specifying increasingly in preference over other methods, such as CFA.”
