Aarsleff Piling

Piling contractor and precast pile manufacturer Aarsleff Piling designs and installs precast piles, steel sheet piles, steel bearing piles, timber piles, tubes and ground beams. The firm says it has the largest piling rig in the UK, capable of pitching and driving up to 32m long steel sections. It manufactures reinforced precast piles at its factory and headquarters at Newark, Nottinghamshire. Reinforcement cage manufacture is carried out by a fully automatic computer controlled system anda welding robot. The firm invested in concrete batching, transfer and mould filling equipment to boost production capacity by 70%.

The firm is introducing a purpose built, self propelled track-mounted piling system in the summer for rapid installation of trackside precast foundation piles for electrical supply catenary pylons. The equipment, designed and developed by Danish parent Per Aarsleff, has been successfully used on Danish, Spanish, Polish and Italian State Railways over the past decade and has been specially adapted for the UK rail network.
