A woman's work

Ports & harbours

Dubai's engineering head Nazek al-Sabbagh has been overseeing expansion work for the port and is an interesting example of how women have made significant headway in the Emirates. She trained at Boston for five years in the 1980s and followed up with a postgraduate study in traffic and transport at Arizona.

She combines the port job with looking after a family of three children, she says.
