Contractor A W Lewis took advantage of an overnight track possession to lift into place the second of six, 41t corrugated steel arches being used to create a unique 110m long, twin bore railway tunnel as part of the £31M South Stockton Link project. The tunnels will carry the link road, under construction by Birse for client Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, over the Middlesbrough to Darlington Railway.
