A new section of dual carriageway is to be built parallel to the A2

A new section of dual carriageway is to be built parallel to the A2 between Pepperhill and Cobham junctions in Kent. The £70M scheme, designed to reduce accidents and improve access to Channel Tunnel Rail Link station Ebbsfleet International, will provide 6.5km of new road with new junctions at Tollgate and Marling Cross. The existing section of the A2 will be broken up and landscaped.

Construction is due to start in 2005 and will take two years.
