A-HOY!

Cowes will once again host the Little Britain Challenge Cup, the annual construction industry sailing regatta held this year, as always, in aid of the Jubilee Sailing Trust. Entries are sought for the two day event to be held on 10 and 11 September this year. But crews will have to be quick as a limit of 150 yachts has been set for this year's regatta - last year saw 162 entries and 1,500 nautical construction types on the water. However, many more are welcome at the lively social event. All classes of boat are welcome to compete over a series of two short races on the Friday and one longer race on the Saturday. In addition to winners' trophies, prizes will be awarded for categories such as 'Best engineer', 'Best architect' and 'Best dressed crew'. And for the first time the event will also allow individuals to take part in crews assembled by the organisers. For further details contact Nicholas Colwyn Foulkes on (0171) 938 2464.
