A golden moment

I was thrilled to open a superb certificate signed by our President and our director general and secretary to commerate achieving Membership of ICE for 50 years.

I commenced my articles to RB Carnegie, County Surveyor of Devon on 1 September 1958. After Devon I joined Hampshire then Lanchashire, then back to Hampshire in 1973 and finished off with six years with East Hampshire District Council.

Given my political freedom via early retirement I was elected to serve on Hampshire County Council, and became chairman for one year.
