A consortium of nine Scottish local authorities and consultant Mouchel


A consortium of nine Scottish local authorities and consultant Mouchel have formed a Public Private Partnership to bid for the Scottish Executive's integrated management and maintenance contract in the new North East Trunk Road Unit. The Executive called for network managers to run its trunk roads through four new operating company units two weeks ago.

Railtrack is facing a £12M fine for failing to meet tough train performance targets set by the Rail Regulator. Railtrack is required to reduce passenger delays by 12.7% by April or face penalties of £1M for every quarter per cent below that target. In its third quarter figures published on Thursday Railtrack announced a 9% improvement. It also announced that it would not bid for LUL sub-surface lines; an 8% drop in broken rails; a 6% improvement in track quality; an 11% reduction in signals passed at danger and a 34% increase in investment to £1,432M.

The Jubilee Sailing Trust raised £92,000 at September's Little Britain Cup event in Cowes.
