3D modelling module added

Geotechnical software specialist Plaxis has launched a new 3D Dynamics module as an extension to its Plaxis 3D software.

The company says the new release offers tools to analyse the propagation of waves through soil and their influence on structures. This allows for the analysis of seismic loading as well as vibrations due to construction activities.

Plaxis has also released a student version of Plaxis Introductory, which is aimed at giving students an opportunity to learn the basics of 2D and 3D modelling in geotechnical engineering.
