£3.5M Yorkshire pipe upgrades start today

Contractor Morrisons Utilities will today begin work on a £3.5M project to replace or strengthen more than 25km of Yorkshire Water’s pipes.

More than 10km of pipe will be replaced and 6km relined in Harrogate and Knaresborough, whilst in Ripon approximately 9km will be replaced, with the eight month long project expected to be complete by March 2012.

The project will improve some of the oldest water pipes in the region. This project is part of the company’s ongoing £39M investment to improve the resilience of its 32,000km network of water pipes
