2nd prize winner:

Engineering Image 2005

NCE reader, Martin Baker: 'Newcastle's high-level bridge is closed to repair the road, but the narrow walkway remains open, boarded with plywood and tarpaulins to keep out the dust. It is a vital crossing point between Newcastle and Gateshead. Daylight finds gaps in the tarpaulin. The panels reek of resin - it's like walking through a pine forest.' Taken in May. Camera settings: Nikon d70; Sigma 70-210, f/4-5.6;70mm; f/4; 1/15 th second iso 1600.
