£14.5M hamburger roundabout on the menu

A hamburger roundabout has been designed to alleviate a notorious congestion hotspot in Gloucestershire.

Contractor Alun Griffiths is expected to start work this summer, upgrading one of the county’s busiest junctions.

The Department for Transport (DfT) is will pay more than £9M towards the £14.5M scheme, which went out to tender in April.

The hamburger style features a straight road bisecting the roundabout an increasingly common design in the UK.
