£100M of highways work up for grabs

Contractors are sought for in the region of £100M of highways surfacing work in the North East.

The North East Procurement Organisation advertised for expressions of interest in places on a 17-lot framework.

Up to eight firms will be appointed to each lot and could be called upon by a number of member authorities including Newcastle and Sunderland City Councils as well as Northumberland County Council.

Contractors have until midday on 18 September to register their interest in the work.

The framework would be valid for four years.
