. . . right context

Letters

With reference to Peter Hendy's language (NCE last week), while swearing is not clever, printing F*** in a serious publication would just be plain stupid.

The text reports an onthe-record discussion with a senior and inuential local government ofcer. The text is his personal and professional opinion, and should be printed verbatim - as indeed it would by our more serious broadsheet newspapers.

It is the sanctimonious tabloids who hide behind asterisks. Such action is not a presentation of the facts. Well done the NCE on a mature approach to editing and journalism.
